Message from the President

Dear Colleagues,

    The Hospital Doctors Association (HDA) welcomes you to its website. This Union, which has been in existence for many years, seeks to move forward with the time. The purpose of the website is not only to be a vehicle to disperse information, but to also be a place where others can see the accomplishments made by our members.

    The HDA represents junior physicians employed under the Public Hospital Authority and the Ministry of Health therefore we have members in Grand Bahama and many of the Family Islands. Through the website we intend to keep our members updated on matters relevant to them.

    The HDA which was started by the present Minister of Health, Dr. Bernard Nottage, is still a thriving organization. Recently under the leadership of Dr. Francis Williams (former President) a new Industrial Agreement was made with the Public Hospital Authority and the Ministry of Health. Additionally the excessive number of hours worked by physician was addressed by a special committee.

    Presently this executive’s focus is to make an impact in the community. We would like physicians to be viewed as the caring, intelligent and dedicated people we truly are through our involvement in many community outreach projects.

    The HDA Executives truly welcomes you and it is hoped that as we work together that our strength will be felt through unity. We are grateful to those of you who continue to support, participate and contribute to the HDA. With your continued support we will be able to accomplish great things.
